Tutoring is done in a one-on-one session and the frequency is determined based on the child’s needs. SOL and SAT preparation are offered to help students gain more one-on-one instruction directly related to the standardized tests. Instruction varies from test-taking skills to direct instruction in the subject matter. Frequency and time are determined based on the child’s needs.

Special education advocacy is assistance for parents of children in special education. Special education meetings can be stressful and discouraging to parents of children with special learning needs because of their strong desire to find the most appropriate program solution for their child. In an effort to work as a team toward your child’s needs, an advocate can help to create a plan for the most appropriate education for your child. Assistance is provided in paper work, letter writing, IEP writing, and continuous monitoring of special education instruction.

The special education advocate meets with the parents and the special education team to develop a plan that is appropriate for the individual learner. The advocate continues to maintain a working relationship with the family and the school in an effort to provide continuous monitoring of the child’s educational needs.
